In our everyday life we must continuously decide to do either one thing or another, to go one direction or a different one, to do something or not to do it. Life is about continuous moments in which we have to face options and make decisions. At first sight it may appear that making it easy, the short-term decisions is easier, less painful or more convenient, however, that is temporary win as sooner or later the consequence will come back against our will. This explains the statement «short-term pain for long-term gain».
Individuals who consider the long-term consequences of their actions, decisions, and goals are more likely to achieve sustained success and fulfillment. This approach involves setting meaningful long-term objectives, making choices that align with those goals, and being consistent through challenges with a focus on the bigger picture. Long-run decisions are generally based and aligned with the values the person has which are normally connected to the soul and heart, to the essence of the human being.

Prioritising long-term decisions also gives more time to make adjustments if needed along the way, allowing the person not to be limited or have pressure by the short-term decisions but to be more flexible. And because long-term thinking are normally based on values, it is also important to question, once in a while, whether those values are still valuable today or have changed with time. By prioritising long-term thinking, individuals can make wiser decisions and navigate their personal development journey with greater purpose and effectiveness.
Connect to your heart and may you have long-term vision,
