Every human story is different, each going through different paths and situations and as such it is unlimited the amount of experiences that people go through in their childhoods, the period of life where most of our personality traits are «printed». We can see numerous examples of great achievers that had difficult childhoods, nonetheless, it is as if they changed and «created a better version» of their past in their minds.
Many of these cases had no other choice than doing that in order to face life and its challenges. They told themselves a different story from what it actually happen, making it nicer than it was, «transforming the narrative» about what happened. Through practice of imagination and meditation, this practice «can slightly change» the past. It is a profound exercise, one that can heal the inner wounds from childhood.
Such individuals «told in their minds and consciousness a different story» from what it actually happened. This is when imagination comes to work, creativity is in action, telling themselves an improved version of the past, making it more colourful than it was in order to regain hope, providing a high level of power, strength and energy in the present time.
As different people go through different experiences, people who transform their misfortune choose different channels to «tell» their lives: some have reflected on them on their past, others have written their stories, in others occasions individuals have painted them, they have made movies out of them, they have converted them in music.
This is a powerful way to transform their suffering past to a more promising present and future, meanwhile their pains get smaller until they dissolving those pains. Since there, they have given a different meaning in their life and in most cases, the very same pain is the driver of their success in the present. Such activities have positive effects for them on how to approach future fear, pain, adversity and challenges.
What story are you currently telling yourself about your past?
Could you make it «a little bit» better through imagination to help you in the present?
Can you help through imagination «giving yourself now» what you needed the most as a child?
May you put «your imagination to work» to help yourself to enjoy the present and a promising future.
