In the modern world a shift from people is needed from the outer world to the inner self to be creative and thrive. In the history people lived from the outer skills, not much self-awareness was needed. A new major invention occurred after years or even decades before the next one. Now, new inventions happen almost every day leading to a highly dynamic present, a scenario that requires us to explore the power of our imagination to be more creative, unique and think for ourselves. Hence, the stronger your inner world the more effective you can perform in the external world.

In the workplace of yesterday people did not need to work in their inner self as labor came from the external world. The agriculture age demanded strong outer skills and practical abilities, where people worked physically with the strength of their bodies and hands. Then, the industrial revolution came where people were massively employed in factories obeying what they were told and performing repetitive tasks in stable labor contexts.
In addition, people´s identity was mainly related to their professions within those structures. During those times the main focus was on mastering some specific skills which were part of some major routines, tasks established repeatedly. At the time, there was no need for self-awareness or to work on inner self, they were not valued. Times were different back then as people could primarily relied on outer skills and that was sufficient to thrive, until approximately the year 2000.
PAST AND PRESENT SUCCESS
From the beginning of the twenty-first century, the high speed of today´s technological advancements and the ever-growing intense competition – not only from people but also from technology – require more focus within ourselves rather than the outer world. In the present times, much more from our inner self is needed. The current world seems to be a wake-up call for our inner world, shifting our attention from the outer environment to place focus on self-awareness. Never before an introspective work was such an important matter.
BALANCING TECHNOLOGY WITH THE HUMAN SIDE
Although technology has revolutionised our times the need for expanding our inner world is equally important, as there are several signals indicating so. In order to follow the rapid advancements of technology due to automation and artificial intelligence taking over repetitive tasks, we are almost forced to update ourselves to a continuos learning, growing and expanding our tech skills, meanwhile understanding that technology cannot replace the our human qualities.
Given such workplace, we must strike a balance between the speed of technology while growing our unique human qualities which, by the way, are on demand. Thus, exploring and navigating our inner self will always be worth it – placing attention on our thoughts, emotions, creativity and self-consciousness will play a crucial role. Expanding our inner world will enable us to adapt, innovate, stand out and even face rejection more easily. Emotional intelligence, empathy and interpersonal skills are key.
VALUE AND EXPAND YOUR INNER WORLD: CONSCIOUSNESS, CREATIVITY AND UNIQUENESS
Paradoxically, due to fast pace that the world now moves it is needed, more than ever, to initiate an introspective journey, slowing down, taking deep breaths and meditate to stop mind and time and refresh yourself. All this will help to practice and expand your imagination and creativity. Take also time to read.
