We are living times of constant changes while the pace happens to be faster than ever often creating new scenarios. Human society is ever-evolving in accelerated manners, those who embrace flexibility and learn to adapt to uncertainty will thrive. While flexibility was probably a luxury in the past, it now became an essential skill to the modern world. The new resilience and transformation will define the course to prosper.

Resilience is the key to transformation in personal and collective lives. The traditional definition of resilience is the ability to return to healthy functioning AFTER being in a stressful situation, the ability to bounce back.
While it did work in the past for the world we used to live in, there is also a revised definition, a new and expanded way of resilience: thinking and living each day in a way that allows us to thrive in the conditions of NOW, acting differently in the changing conditions, in the new normal.
Here to Stay.
The «new normal» that is emerging is here to stay, however, some people are waiting for life to come back to the «old normal», that world is gone and will not come back. Accepting that now is different from the past is welcoming the new reality, thinking and living differently than in the past. Some of the most important things in life have changed: the way we think about money, jobs, investments, careers, religion, medicine, health, security, travelling, but no one has told us in big ways that there is a new world and that the new world needs different approach.
We are no longer living in isolated countries, lonely economies, isolated technology, isolated industries, isolated ideas, amongst others. Everything now seems to be globalised in a globalised world. We share everything in the modern world: culture, art, music, entertainment, food, information, everything is consumed by different countries in different parts of the planet.
At the same time, we are not only sharing the good things but we also share the problems of the world: one problem in a certain country may affects different people and countries in other continents. Now we share so much with the world that we can no longer separate the global world from our everyday lives.
«The art of life is the constant readjustment to our surroundings».
OKAKURA KAKUZÓ.
The world is changing faster than the way we are prepared to accept and many of these changes are here to stay and they are not going to go away, but nobody is teaching us about that. Our lives are also changing faster than we have been prepared for – in ways that we are not used to.
In order to deal with the change, first we must acknowledge it, be conscious about it, accept it, be honest about it and then act differently in order to produce different outcomes. Hence, it is reasonable to ADAPT to the emerging world because, as we mentioned earlier, the vast majority of these changes are here to stay. So, instead of reacting to the new changes, it makes sense to adapt to such changes as they are being the «new normal».
Am I being aware of the speed of the changes in the modern world?
Am I growing some of my personal skills along with some of the external changes?
What I am doing to «update» my skills to the current world?
May you be aware and welcome the emerging reality to work for a better future.
